Hey friend,
It has been a challenging week for me due to various reasons.
And here is the truth.
I lacked motivation, not because I don't love what I do but because it is one of those weeks. However, I want to be honest with you all - I am going hard with the launch date for my course approaching soon, and I haven't taken the breaks I needed.
As a leader, it's important to acknowledge that there are times when you might lack motivation and feel like you're not doing your job. But what can you do when your team depends on you and expects you to have everything together?
In the past, when I've felt this way, I've taken a mental health day and allowed myself to rest. I'd recommend you do the same and treat yourself.
Let your team know and be vulnerable about what’s going on and why you need to take time off.
You don’t need to reveal personal details but share how you feel. And ask them to help you out here. Your team will appreciate your honesty and see that it's okay to take breaks and not always have everything under control.
If there is a task that people depend on, can person X help you with it? Maybe ask Product, design, or other counterparts to step in as they will have the most context.
Remember, it’s okay to ask for help 💖 and delegate tasks to others on your team. This will showcase that you are a human, have feelings, and that it’s okay for your team to take time off and not everything can be hunky dory all the time.
To summarize,
→ If you want to share a meme with me or pet pics or say something nice, hit reply and do it, as today would be a perfect day for it! :D
Meanwhile, I’ll be hanging out with Coby, my dog and taking the afternoon off.
Having said that, I really hope you have a lovely weekend 💜.
